In order to provide the farmers with free access on the information related to agriculture and allied field, CARD- KVK launched Krishi Doodh – an SMS service since November 2009. The SMS service is provided to its registered users free of cost and the target groups includes farmers, extension functionaries and all other collaborators of KVK. The monthly training programme and information on the new technologies, up-to-date information on crop based filed operations, information on price forecast of various agriculture produces, etc. are send to stake holders on regular basis. The text messages in English to maximum of 160 characters are delivered to registered users with any service providers in the country.

KVK in its effort in promoting jack as a wonder fruit have initiated an exclusive technology portal for jackfruit in the form of blog where in people can have interactions. KVK maintain a wide net work thourgh out India and other countries where in information as send to KVK by its followers particularly Sri Shree padre the water journalist from Adikapatrika the Kannada Journal. KVK ini¬tiated a community radio pro¬gramme KrishiJaalakam in col¬laboration with Radio MACFAST 90.4covering 15-20 km Arial distance around the station on 4.3.2012. The main objective of KrishiJaalakam is to bridge the information gaps of the all sec-tions of the society especially the farmers of the locality with latest and relevant information Interview with KVK experts regarding latest tech¬nologies, interview with master trainers of KVK, live interactions, experience shar¬ing by successful farmers, relevant topics of day-to-day importance are broadcasted through this programme on Saturday 3.30 a.m. and Sunday 10.00 a.m.
KVK publish its half yearly newsletter in the form of hard copy and soft copy. The hard copies are sent mostly to farmers and other stake holders not able to access internet services. While E-newsletter is loaded in KVK website (www.kvkcard.org) and copy of the same are send via emails to our partners and stakeholders regularly.
A mobile Application, which covers pest and diseases of coconut, vegetables, paddy, and ba¬nana. This app is in local language Malayalam and serves as an Android based crop advisor for farming community and extension officials as well.
The farm machineries and implements are made available to the farmers across the district for their field operations at a reasonable rent. Different kind of machineries are available in this way. The farmers and rural youth who were trained at KVK in various aspects of operation and maintenance of farm equipments can hire the machineries for their own or service providing activities.
KVK formed two paddy task forces at Pandalam Thekkara and Eraviperoor Grama Panchayath. Each task force consists 10 members who are given intensive training in the operation and maintenance of farm machineries especially in paddy cultivation. The farmers and land owners can make use the services of the Agricultural Task Force.
In order to solve the problem of shortage of coconut climbers KVK organizes intensive training programmes of mechanized coconut climbing in collaboration with Coconut Development Board. The six days vocational programmes involves various cultivation, irrigation and management practices in coconut cultivation besides the mechanized coconut climbing. 122 persons completed the training programme so far. An equipped workshop is established at the Agro Service Centre of KVK in which the repair and maintenance of minor agriculture implements are carried out. The centre envisages to overcome the shortage of agricultural machineries by imparting training to the rural youth in this concern. Besides, the Agro Service Centre involved in the fabrication of various agricultural and livestock management models on demand of the farmers.
The horticultural section of our district is in a turning point toward the protected and precision farming practices. The Agro Service Centre serves as a technical consultancy in the matter of protected cultivation and micro irrigation technology. The fabrication, cladding, micro irrigation system establishment, etc. are carried out by the centre for the precision farming of the district.
