Management Information System (MIS) division of ICAR- KVK, CARD, Pathanamthitta makes best use of E-Extension approaches for effective dissemination of technologies to farming communities and extension functionaries at a faster pace. The MIS division maintains a data base management system, which besides supporting its own experts also provides the farmers with free access to the information related to agriculture and allied field. Through the division, KVK also take effort in linking the people around the world to know and get feedback on our activities for which KVK is also active in social networking site-‘facebook’ (https://www.facebook.com/icarkvk.pathanamthitta), Twitter and WhatsApp groups. Other ICT initiatives of KVK includes Krishi Doodh (a Short Message Service), E-Publication, which includes E-newsletter, technology capsules in the form of CD’s and DVD’s and YouTube, Krishi Jalakam (a community radio programme with Radiomacfast 90.4). KVK has developed a mobile application called Krishi Sparsham, which covers pest and diseases of coconut, vegetables, paddy, and banana. This app gives extension staff and lead farmers, all the information they need to treat the crop instantly.
