Programme Assistant (Lab) primarily deals with the activities of soil and water testing lab established at KVK for benefiting the farming community. Soil samples received from the farmers, students and researchers are analysed to understand the nutrient status of the plot and also fertilizer recommendations are prescribed based on the soil test result for different crops as per farmers’ requirement. Trainings, awareness programmes, soil health campaigns, demonstrations etc. are organized to create awareness among the farmers on significance of soil sample analysis in agriculture to reduce the cost of cultivation and to improve soil health.
